Beauty Review | The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Chemical Peeling Solution!!

New season calls for new skin!

I have heard so much about this little £6.30 wonder bottle from ‘The Ordinary’ that I have been desperate to try it out myself!! This product is the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, it is meant to exfoliate the skin (at multiple levels) to fight acne and restore an even, radiant tone.Smoothing the skin’s texture and reducing the look of fine lines with regular use.

I have struggled over the past few weeks with my skin. Spots, blemishes, dryness – you name it!! So with a dab of face masks and cleansers and a swish of serum’s and repair creams I have been working hard on getting it back to its top form!

Find out what I thought about this face mask below!

The Product

Key Ingredients:

  • Glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and citric acids: alpha hydroxy acids that exfoliate the skin’s top layers for a brighter, more radiant look
  • Salicylic acid: a beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates inside pores to clear congestion
  • Tasmanian Pepperberry: a botanical extract that reduces the irritation associated with acid use
  • Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: a form of hyaluronic acid that promotes a smooth, comfortable feel
  • Vitamin B5: a vitamin that encourages healing and enhances surface hydration
  • Black Carrot: a botanical extract with antioxidant effects

First impressions:

I really love the clinical and simple design of this product! It’s not a huge bottle but the amount of product that you get for the price is definitely worth it!!

Having a product like this in a syringe is a bit awkward for application – next time  I will attempt pumping product into my hands for application. But for those of you like me who love to get your moneys worth on products – one full syringe per application is more than enough!! *ka’ching*

How to Use

Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin. Leave the mask on for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

As mentioned in the video, the only direction for application is with dry fingers. This leaves the application of this product a little awkward as it stings upon application… A Lot. I know a few people have said they feel no tingling when applying this product – well… I SURE DID – LOL!!

The product is runny which makes smoothing it over your face very easy (and fast).

The Results:

I recommend using before bed in combination with an overnight cream/serum so that it works its magic.

I definitely noticed an immediate smoothing of my skin and a reduction in spots. There was a slight change in the brightness of my skin and a slight improvement to the texture of spotty areas – like my forehead.

Like any product and any journey to great skin – it won’t be overnight. This is a product which needs to be used over a period of time. So I have the pleasure of revisiting this mask in another blog post and reporting on what it is doing for my skin.

I was lucky to have no peeling/dead skin with this mask. I was only left with velvety sofa skin and an optimistic feeling.

Do I recommend this mask?… er.. YES!!
